Our Advisory Model

Our advisory work is informed by One Health principles, recognising the interconnectedness of animal health, production systems, environmental sustainability, and human livelihoods. Our approach is grounded in field experience, empirical evidence, and a multidisciplinary understanding of livestock systems across Eastern Africa.

How our advisory model works

Our advisory model follows a clear, step-by-step process that supports informed decision-making, effective implementation, and measurable improvement.

Listening and Understanding the Enterprise

Every engagement begins with listening. We take time to understand the client’s objectives, operating environment, livestock production system, and constraints. This includes appreciating social, environmental, and market factors that influence enterprise performance.

We conduct comprehensive diagnostics to assess technical, operational, and business performance. Diagnostics draw on multidisciplinary inputs including animal production, animal health, nutrition, management practices, and, where relevant, laboratory-informed analysis to identify strengths, gaps, and risks.

Based on diagnostic findings, we evaluate the overall livestock business. This evaluation integrates technical performance with financial viability, environmental considerations, and market alignment to support realistic and responsible decision-making.

We work with clients to assess investment requirements, operational adjustments, and expected returns. Discussions consider technical feasibility, financial sustainability, risk exposure, and long-term resilience before investment decisions are made.

We provide targeted training, mentorship, and hands-on support to implement agreed recommendations. Progress is reviewed to assess outcomes, reinforce learning, and adjust strategies where necessary, ensuring continuous improvement.
